Read submitted essays and prepare detailed written evaluations.
Participate in making final decision for inclusion based on evaluations.
Work one-on-one with authors to handle revisions/corrections.
Proofread final manuscripts.
The Chief Editor will coordinate all these activities, oversee and train the staff, and prepare a schedule of deadlines for each semester.
Successful candidates for this staff will have exceptional writing and editing skills, enthusiasm for the mission and vision of The Pulse, and excellent organizational and interpersonal skills.
Public Relations Staff
Create signs, fliers, e-mails, etc. to publicize calls for papers, publication dates, and other pertinent deadlines.
Target and communicate with specific audiences of students and professors to solicit papers for publication.
Explore other means of raising awareness of The Pulse on campus and in the university community, in light of the Baylor strategic plan, Illuminate.
Finalize the artwork for the yearly publication and use publishing software to generate an electronic copy of the annual edition.
