How to Apply
Please note: Although there is no official deadline to submit your Honors College application, we encourage you to apply as early as possible to remain eligible for potential Honors College scholarships. Scholarship consideration deadlines and the final confirmation deadline can be found on our Confirm Your Honors College Admission page.
If you’re academically ambitious and eager to shape your own path at Baylor, the Honors College offers many distinct opportunities that you can mix and match to tailor your undergraduate experience. Follow the steps below to apply.
1. Apply to Baylor University
To be considered for the Honors College, you must first apply for admission to Baylor through goBAYLOR. When filling out your Baylor application for Admission, be sure to indicate your interest in the Honors College under “Academic Plans” so you can receive more information about our programs and application steps.
If you apply through the Common App, you’ll receive an email within 48 hours with instructions for activating your goBAYLOR account.
2. Explore Honors College Opportunities
Before applying, take time to learn more about the Honors College opportunities. Our offerings include:
Students are encouraged to connect with faculty, attend events, and explore the distinctive features of each option to decide which best fits their goals.
3. Apply to the Honors College through the Elite Academic Programs Application
Once you’ve started your Baylor application, you can access the Honors College application through the Elite Academic Programs Application (EAPA) section of your goBAYLOR account.
The Elite Academic Programs Application opens on September 1 each year.
You can apply to one or more Honors College opportunities.
Essay prompts, deadlines, and application instructions are available within goBAYLOR.
You do not need to be admitted to Baylor before accessing the Honors College application through the EAPA. However, we recommend waiting to activate your goBAYLOR account until you receive your activation email to avoid delays in processing.

4. Confirm Your Honors College Admission
If you’ve been admitted to the Honors College, you’ll need to confirm your intent to enroll in your goBAYLOR account. Confirming your degree, major, or program helps secure your place in your chosen opportunity and determines eligibility for scholarships. Confirmation is non-binding and does not require an enrollment deposit.

To be considered for Honors College scholarship opportunities, you should confirm your admission by the following dates:
- March 1 – Round 1 scholarship deadline
- April 1 – Round 2 scholarship deadline

5. Apply for Housing in the HRC
Students in the Honors College are eligible to live in the Honors Residential College (HRC). While housing is optional, the HRC is highly recommended for students seeking meaningful community and close faculty engagement.

6. Register for Line Camp and Orientation
After confirming your admission to Baylor, you can register for:
Honors College Line Camp – A special session designed for students in the Honors College to build friendships, meet faculty, and get to know Baylor.
Orientation – A required two-day program for all new students to get to know your new home away from home.
