How to Apply
If you’re academically ambitious and eager to shape your own path at Baylor, the Honors College offers many distinct opportunities that you can mix and match to tailor your undergraduate experience. Follow the steps below to apply.
1. Apply to Baylor University
To be considered for the Honors College, you must first apply for admission to Baylor through goBAYLOR. When filling out your Baylor application, be sure to indicate your interest in the Honors College under “Academic Plans” so you can receive more information about our programs and application steps.
If you apply through the Common App or ApplyTexas, you’ll receive an email within 48 hours with instructions for activating your goBAYLOR account.
2. Explore Honors College Opportunities
Before applying, take time to learn more about the Honors College opportunities. Our offerings include:
Bachelor of Philosophy (B.Phil.)

Students are encouraged to connect with faculty, attend events, and explore the distinctive features of each option to decide which best fits their goals.
3. Apply to the Honors College through the Elite Opportunities application
Once you’ve started your Baylor application, you can access the Honors College application through the Elite Opportunities section of your goBAYLOR account.
The Honors College application opens on August 1 each year.
You can apply to one or more Honors College programs.
Essay prompts, deadlines, and application instructions are available within goBAYLOR.
You do not need to be admitted to Baylor before accessing the Honors College application. However, we recommend waiting to activate your goBAYLOR account until you receive your activation email to avoid delays in processing.
4. Confirm Your Honors College Admission
Students who are admitted to the Honors College should confirm their intent to enroll in goBAYLOR. Confirming by the following dates qualifies students for Honors College scholarship consideration:
March 1 – Round 1 scholarship deadline
April 1 – Round 2 scholarship deadline
Scholarships are awarded based on your Baylor application, Honors College application, and demonstrated financial need (FAFSA/CSS Profile). Confirmation is non-binding and does not require a Baylor enrollment deposit.
5. Apply for Housing in the HRC
Students in the Honors College are eligible to live in the Honors Residential College (HRC). While housing is optional, the HRC is highly recommended for students seeking meaningful community and close faculty engagement.
For details on HRC deadlines and housing steps, visit the HRC website or email HRC@baylor.edu.
6. Register for Line Camp and Orientation
After confirming your admission to Baylor, you can register for:
Honors College Line Camp – A special session designed for students in the Honors College to build friendships, meet faculty, and get to know Baylor.
Orientation – A required two-day program for all new students to get to know your new home away from home.
