For centuries, fishing has not only been an important means of sustenance but an opportunity to reflect on the relationship between humanity and the environment, the mystery of life and death, and the deeper meaning of fishing itself. In this course, we will read the greatest texts ever written on the art of fishing as well as the most famous book about the Brazos River. We will also practice the art of fishing on the nearby waterways of Waco.
No prior experience is necessary: first-time fishermen and first-time readers are welcome. Some fishing gear is available for those who do not have their own, but a Texas fishing license is required.
