Medicine as Mission Conference

Medicine as Mission invites students to explore how Christian faith can shape a life of service in healthcare. Through worship, teaching, and conversations with practicing healthcare professionals, participants will consider what it means to pursue healthcare as a calling and a mission.
Sponsored by Micah Scholars and the Baylor Honors Program, Christian PreHealth Fellowship at Baylor, Baylor Office of Prehealth Studies, Baylor Spiritual Life, Baylor Medical Humanities Program, and Christian Community Health Fellowship (CCHF).

Friday Evening | October 2
Keynote Address | "Walking Worthy: Calling, Christ, and the Pursuit of Medicine."
7:00 p.m. | Elliston Chapel
This year's keynote speaker is Dr. Catherine Moore, Assistant Medical Director for Affinia Healthcare of St Louis and a leader with the Christian Community Health Fellowship (CCHF), a national organization dedicated to advancing healthcare among underserved communities. Drawing from her experience in community health and medical practice, Dr. Moore will challenge students to consider how faith can shape their understanding of healing, service, and vocation. Following the address, participants are invited to join the Christian Prehealth Fellowship Music Team for a time of worship and reflection.
Saturday Morning | October 3
Through interactive breakout sessions designed to foster meaningful conversation, mentorship, and vocational discernment, students will engage with healthcare professionals who understand their work with underserved communities as a calling to Christian mission
Topics will include:
Preparing for careers that include international mission work
Integrating faith and professional practice
Caring for the whole person
Navigating the opportunities and challenges of healthcare careers
Open to all Baylor students interested in healthcare careers.
