Getterman Scholars Benefits
Along with the prestige of selection as a Getterman Scholar comes an annually renewable scholarship that covers tuition (minus merit-based scholarships received through the Admissions process), a book allowance (standard amount determined annually by the university), and course-related fees for eight semesters of undergraduate study, as well as housing and food in the Honors Residential College. Parking fees and other non-related coursework fees are not included.
Getterman Scholars are invited into the Getterman Fellowship community, where they are expected to engage in leadership, service, and academic enrichment through dedicated mentorship activities with Honors College faculty.
Additionally, Getterman Scholars are expected to spend summers in enriching, engaged learning opportunities. Support is provided for one Honors College-led study abroad and one approved mission/service experience*. Students may also apply for support for an approved summer research internship. Further information is provided in the subsections below.

*Award limits apply ($20,000 maximum in combined study abroad, mission trip, and research internship support over the Getterman Scholar’s undergraduate career.) Reasonable costs will also be taken into consideration during the approval process for the study abroad, mission, or research internship experience. Activities that occur prior to the start of the freshman year are not covered. Summer support begins after freshman year, at which time the student will have completed first-year learning experiences and mentoring. Additionally, internship support is limited by cost of attendance calculations. Please see the internship support page for more information.
**Exceptions: Baylor in Argentina and Baylor PreHealth in Dublin; Students who matriculated prior to Fall 2026 may select from any Baylor faculty-led study abroad experience but should work closely with the Honors College Associate Dean for Undergraduate Studies as soon as possible to discuss potential challenges
