Research Internship Support
Scholars may request up to $2,500 in support for a research-inclusive internship of their choice and arrangement. An approved internship will support the scholarly development of the student.
It is important to note that no amount can be awarded that exceeds that student’s Cost of Attendance (COA) for the semester. Further, no award can be made for a semester during which the student is not enrolled at BU
Students must initiate an online application for support to propose a research internship experience
The Dean/Associate Dean will evaluate the proposal for evidence that the internship provides adequate opportunities for research activity or scholarly development.
- No requests for stand-alone conference travel will be approved.
- If an external internship is approved, a payment will be planned with Honors College staff.
- The student will receive one-half of the award amount upon confirmation of intent to participate. The award will be distributed near the end of the semester preceding the summer internship.
- The remaining one-half will be awarded during the fall semester after the student submits confirmation of satisfactory summer internship completion.
