Aiden Magee

Aiden is a University Scholars alumnus from Austin, Texas, who concentrated in Economics, Professional Writing and Rhetoric, Philosophy, and Religion and graduated last spring. During his first year at Baylor, he lived in Penland Hall and has since set his plans to attend law school. On campus, Aiden was involved in the Phi Kappa Chi Fraternity and the Pre-Law Society. His favorite reading list book was Screwtape Letters by C.S. Lewis. He was interested in pursuing a thesis topic on policy reform, specifically regarding either gun control or urban housing development, which was inspired by Richard Rothstein's The Color of Law.

Reflecting on his time at the university, Aiden shares this advice with new students: “Work hard, play hard. Finding the balance between these two ideas is difficult, but if you can accomplish them both, I feel confident you will look back on your college experience with great fondness. Most importantly, don't be too hard on yourself. You are bound to fail at one point or another, so be prepared for it, and find comfort in what you will learn from your shortcomings.”
