Angel Tran

Angel is a University Scholars alumna from Salina, Kansas, who concentrated in Public Health and Business Administration and graduated last spring. During her first year at Baylor, she lived at Cityside and has since set her plans to pursue an MBA and medical school. On campus, Angel was involved with the Bridgebuilding Fellows, Vietnamese Student Association, International Student Association, and Baylor Medical Service Organization, and she worked as a Design Research Assistant.

Her favorite reading list book was Crime and Punishment by Fyodor Dostoyevsky. For her thesis, she focused on understanding the impact of parental cancer on child pro-social behavior, working alongside faculty mentor Dr. Jay Yoo.

Beyond her coursework, Angel gained valuable professional and research experience through her extracurricular involvements: she completed a CMO Internship Program where she worked closely with a chief medical officer in executive meetings to decrease patient wait times and increase the quality of patient care while finishing a capstone project on salmonella prevention, and she served as a Research Assistant, working closely with a professor to publish papers exploring the effects of cancer on body image in breast cancer patients and their quality of life.
