Hana Jang

Hana is a University Scholars alumna from Rocklin, California, who concentrated in Biology, Biochemistry, and Economics and graduated last spring. During her first year at Baylor, she lived in Memorial Hall and has since set her plans to attend medical school. On campus, Hana was involved in the BMSA, AED, the Min Lab, and served as an ECO 2306 Tutor. Her favorite reading list book was Pride and Prejudice by Jane Austen. Her thesis was related to the field of health economics, and she worked alongside faculty mentors Dr. Hunt and Dr. Moore.

Beyond her coursework, Hana served as a hospice care volunteer, visiting patients twice a week to offer companionship, and spent 12 to 15 hours per week researching DNA repair and nucleotide excision repair pathways in the Min lab.

Reflecting on her undergraduate journey, Hana shares this advice with new students: “I would like to advise all incoming students to be open to trying new clubs and organizations and exploring everything that Baylor has to offer!”
