Isabel Vorst

Isabel is a Junior University Scholar from Houston, Texas, pursuing a secondary major in English and a minor in Creative Writing. Following graduation, she plans to enter the fields of literary editing and publishing, with the long-term ambition of authoring books of her own.

Outside of the classroom, Isabel is deeply engaged in both the literary and spiritual communities at Baylor. She currently serves as the Senior Prose Editor for The Phoenix literary magazine, where she helps curate and elevate student works. During her first two years, Isabel lived in the Honors Residential College (HRC), actively cultivating community as a member of the HRC Spiritual Life Committee and as a Bible Study leader throughout the 2025–2026 academic year. Her passion for storytelling also led her to write for the Baylor Lariat’s Arts and Life column, where she shared insights on campus culture and the arts with the broader student body.

Beyond the Waco campus, one of Isabel’s most cherished Baylor experiences has been participating in the two-week Honors College in Athens mission trip. This transformative journey allowed her to serve alongside various local ministries while exploring the historic landscapes where the New Testament came to life.
