Logan Tyeryar

Logan is a Senior University Scholar from Raleigh, North Carolina, concentrating in Neuroscience and Biology, with a minor in Biochemistry. She lived in Texana Hall during her first year at Baylor and plans to attend medical school after graduation. Outside of the classroom, Logan is highly engaged in extracurricular, clinical, and global experiences. On campus, she is involved in the Medical Service Organization (MSO) and the First Aid Service Team (F.A.S.T.), and she serves as a Pre-Health Mentor for the Pre-Health office.
Her clinical and global health journey includes volunteering at local hospitals in North Carolina over the summers and at Waco Family Medicine during the school year to give back to the community and gain valuable clinical exposure. Additionally, Logan shadowed healthcare professionals abroad in Italy and Greece through a CEA Study Abroad program, furthering her interest in global health initiatives and in understanding how healthcare systems differ across countries. nLogan’s favorite reading list book is Lais by Marie de France. Her thesis explores the effects of bilingualism on brain plasticity and cognitive aging.
When asked for her advice to new students, Logan shares: “Get out and meet new people; you have the opportunity to meet so many new people and explore new opportunities. Try new things to see and remain open to new opportunities. Make sure you enjoy your time and have a fulfilling college experience.”
