Madison Bailey

  • Concentrations: Biology, Religion, Math, Biochemistry

Madison is a senior University Scholar from Deer Park, Texas, concentrating in Biology. Madison lived in Penland Hall during her first year at Baylor and plans to attend Dental School after graduation. On campus, Madison is involved in ASDA (American Student Dental Association) and Intramural Sports.

Madison’s favorite reading list book was Screwtape Letters by C.S. Lewis. I am exploring oral healthcare practices across time and cultures. For her thesis, Madison is exploring oral healthcare practices across time and cultures. She has worked with faculty mentor Dr. Thomas McGrath

To the new students, Madison says: “Take full advantage of all Baylor has to FREELY offer (which is A LOT). Improve your academic career by attending SIs, free tutoring, get someone to check your essays with the Writing Center. Use the career center to better your resume and interview skills. Get involved in sports, go to football games, basketball, rugby, softball, equestrian, volleyball, etc. Try out racquetball and rock climbing at the SLC. Do intramurals! Go paddleboarding, kayaking, and canoeing at the Marina! Get immersed in the Baylor traditions (Christmas on 5th, FM72, running the Baylor Line, Dia del Oso, Homecoming, etc.). Baylor is so overflowing with resources that even seniors do not know the full extent of the opportunities and activities that students are provided. Get out! Enjoy Baylor! Make the most of these four years!”

Extracurriculars

Pre-dental opportunities: as a pre-dental student, most of my summers have been dedicated to working or shadowing in dental offices and studying for the DAT. (If you’d like advice on how to reach out to dental offices for shadowing opportunities or jobs, feel free to ask!)

Ministry: last summer I had the unique opportunity to live in Lexington, KY, where I served in a ministry internship.
