Manav Kapadia

  • Biochemistry, Spanish, and Business Administration

Manav is a Junior University Scholar from Dallas, Texas, concentrating in Biochemistry, Spanish, and Business Administration. He lived in Teal Residential College during his freshman year and plans to attend medical school after graduation. Outside of the classroom, Manav is highly engaged in extracurricular activities. 

He serves as a research assistant in the Arthropod Sensory Biology Lab, studying the spread of vector-borne diseases and the effectiveness of different compounds on mosquito attraction and deterrence. Additionally, he works as a tutor for various subjects at the Baylor Success Center and volunteers at Ascension, where he assists nurses in the cardiac ICU with rounding on patients, taking vitals, and monitoring comfort levels.

Manav’s favorite reading list book is Cancer Ward by Aleksandr Solzhenitsyn, which explores the events in a Soviet hospital. During his time at Baylor, he has received mentorship from Dr. Sparky Matthews, Dr. Jason Pitts, and Dr. Michael Muehlenbein. When asked for his advice to new students, Manav shares: “Make sure to leave time for fun—it makes your college experience so much more rewarding!”
