Pre-Advising for 2026 Incoming Students
Welcome to the Baylor Honors Program
To the entering class of 2026: welcome to the Baylor Honors Program! The Honors Program faculty and staff are glad you are coming to Baylor, and we look forward to getting to know you this fall. If you should have any question about the Honors Program over the summer, please don’t hesitate to contact us at your earliest convenience (hp@baylor.edu, or albert_beck@baylor.edu). Our advising offices are located in the garden level of Alexander Hall.
For students enrolling in Summer of Discovery, you will be advised and registered for classes in May. For most students, advising and registration for fall classes will start in June and continue for most of the rest of the month. You will receive an email from your academic advisor inviting you to schedule your advising appointment when it is time to do so.
The advising process varies by major, but a majority of Honors Program students will meet with an Honors Program advisor via Zoom. Advisors will carefully advise you for ALL of your academic requirements--major, minor, preprofessional, and Honors. A few Honors students -- those in the Baylor Interdisciplinary Core (BIC), Business Fellows, Business Scholars, Music, and University Scholars -- will meet with advisors in those areas rather than with an Honors advisor.
Before meeting with your advisor, review the various sub-pages connected to this web site. These pages, along with the Baylor Navigate app, will provide most of the information needed to prepare for advising.
You might find it helpful to take a look at information about how the Honors curriculum relates to your major.
All incoming Honors Program students will participate in a required Freshman Reading Project. We'll provide more information about this opportunity in May.
