Teaching
Dr. Cobos teaches a load of 4/4. During Fall 2025, she taught BIC 1112: Examined Life; two sections of BIC 1313: World of Rhetoric I; and BIC 2330: Social World I. During Spring 2026, she will teach two sections of BIC 1323: World of Rhetoric II; BIC 2340: Social World II; and BIC 4389: Examined Life III—Place, Space, and Identity. For the eight years previous to Fall 2025, she taught in a Montessori- International Baccalaureate (IB) high school where she directed and taught English Language Arts (9/10) and IB Theory of Knowledge (11/12). She also taught mini-terms in sociology, legal theories, philosophy, and creative writing. She also taught study abroad courses, including Thailand: Religion and Culture, and Singapore: Culture and History.
She's in the application process to become affiliate faculty in the Baylor Women's and Gender Studies and the Baylor Ethnic Studies program.
Research
Dr. Cobos interdisciplinary research sits within two major areas: (1) Indigenous, Latinx, and decolonial rhetorics, writing, and practices and (2) disability and race/ethnicity. Her research in disability also transfers to research in pedagogy and curricular construction. From 2020-2026, her presentations and publications include:
